Team Taylor County is proud to announce that Taylor County has been awarded $1,751,421 through the Kentucky Product Development Initiative (KPDI) to support the construction of a Build-Ready pad on 53.5 acres in the Heartland Commerce and Technology Park. This strategic investment will enhance the county’s ability to attract new business, drive job creation, and strengthen the local economy.

The funding, awarded by the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development in collaboration with the Kentucky Association for Economic Development (KAED), was part of the first round of approvals in the latest phase of KPDI. This highly competitive program is designed to help Kentucky communities improve site and building readiness to meet the evolving needs of today’s site selectors and expanding industries.

“This investment further positions Taylor County as a premier location for industrial growth,” said Ron McMahan, Executive Director of Team Taylor County. “With this new Build-Ready pad, we can offer prospective companies a streamlined path to construction, faster speed to market, and a proven commitment from our community to support long-term business success.”

Located within the Heartland Commerce and Technology Park — a certified Build-Ready industrial park — the 53.5-acre site will provide prospective tenants with access to essential infrastructure, including utilities, transportation routes, and a strong regional workforce. The site is ideally suited for advanced manufacturing, distribution, or other industrial operations seeking a shovel-ready location.

The Build-Ready program is part of Kentucky’s broader strategy to enhance its economic development assets and improve statewide competitiveness. Through KPDI, the state is investing in sites that are evaluated and validated by third-party consultants for infrastructure, workforce, and development potential.

“This is a smart, future-focused investment for Taylor County,” said McMahan. “We’re grateful to the Cabinet for Economic Development, KAED, and our local partners for helping make this opportunity a reality.”

The Heartland Commerce and Technology Park is already home to several successful employers and is poised for continued growth. With the addition of this new Build-Ready pad, Team Taylor County is making it easier than ever for companies to launch and expand operations in central Kentucky.
